Is it time?

The biggest questions that pertain to Bo Scarbrough have been involved in saying “what if healthy”. If you are an Alabama fan and don’t know the potential of Bo yet, then you have a lot to learn. The flashes show Heisman, but an injury puts it to rest. Bo Scarbrough

Every Alabama fan wants to see the junior healthy. He has shown flashes of Derrick Henry all over again, and he runs just like him. The main question has always been health, which was not Derrick Henry’s issue at all.

So the question has to be answered this year, because there is a stable of running backs looking to take his job. Damien Harris showed he’s an elusive running back that can produce consistently. BJ Emmons showed flashes, and the incoming freshman Najee Harris is licking his chops.

It’s now or never for Bo this year and he has to know it. Stay healthy, and you could be looking at a 3rd Heisman trophy for Alabama. Hurt and your looking at “what if” questions for 5 plus years.

Bo or Stable?

After talking to many Alabama fans, you are not looking at a landslide to even think Bo is the best running back on the team. There are fans out there who think Damien Harris should be the starter or even saying to give Najee Harris time this year.

Now the question becomes are we going to put our money on Bo and lean on his injury prone legs or give the stable of running backs more playing time? I don’t think it matters to Bo, but everyone knows he wants his chances at least.

So there it is, would you take building the offensive game plan around Bo or altering to fit the scheme around the new comers?

Alabama needs Bo

I think Bo needs Alabama about as much as Alabama needs Bo to win the National Championship. I believe he is the ultimate difference maker and has already show he is the best running back on the team.

Bo put up 812 yards and 11 touchdowns in 2016, and look for those numbers to skyrocket if healthy. There was already much anticipation from him before his freshman year, and this is just something people have been wanting to see.

But one thing is for sure, you will hear every news network mention his name if Alabama starting leaning on him. I feel as though he will be a leading Heisman candidate if he has a good enough game against FSU.

Nick Saban is still riding really high on the five star prospect just like everyone else. I think the common consensus is that Alabama needs Scarbrough to have a good season in order for them to make it back to the playoffs.

Scarbrough was already considered the best back coming into the spring, and I think that title still belongs to him. He needs to get on the field, stay healthy, and let the game come to him. Win the Heisman and National Championship, and he will go down as an Alabama Hero. Get hurt and possibly be forgotten about by the end of the year. Your move Bo!

I haven’t followed college football in a long time. I went to the University of Kentucky in Lexington in the mid-90’s. I remember our football team playing Alabama (we are both in the southeastern conference). In those days, Kentucky’s football team was not the greatest, so I’m sure Alabama beat us once or twice!

Great article John and I also liked the footage! I come from the “Land Downunder” but loved watching “gridiron” as it was known to us. I played Rugby and still follow that code. We could only dream about talent like Bo Scarbrough! Injury has cut short many a player’s career, so here’s hoping he stays injury free for many seasons to come! J

Thanks for the comment. I actually talk to quite a bit of people from Australia and they seem to watch a lot of football. I actually watch Rugby every now and then, it doesn’t show very much in America. I hope he has an awesome season for sure.
